Free Fedora Giveaways at FUDCon Blacksburg 2012

A couple of years ago I had a few Fedora-branded embroidered button-down shirts custom-made. For like two years, they're not my size any more after I lost quite some weight. They are hardly worn at all and actually rather unique. So I decided to give them away to fellow contributors. Then I forgot to bring them along to events. Again and again. But guess what? I'm at FUDCon Blacksburg 2012 and they are in my luggage!

If you want one of those short sleeve button-down shirts (two blacks, one white and one baby-blue), post a comment why you should get one and what color you'd like. The shirts are medium size (by European standards), so only people who can actually wear them and are at FUDCon Blacksburg this weekend will be considered for the obvious reasons.

I also have one Fedora-branded beige-ish baseball cap to give away. Comment if you want it.

Fedora QA @ FUDCon Blacksburg 2012

If you're interested in Fedora QA and you're going to FUDCon Blacksburg 2012, here's what's planned for you:
  1. I'm going to pitch a barcamp session (i.e. talk) on Saturday that gives a quick and totally incomplete "Introduction to Fedora QA". That's really aimed at people who wonder what those folks basically do and how they do that, theory only. No diving into details.
  2. I also scheduled a workshop on Sunday early morning, that's another "Introduction to Fedora QA" but this time with some "software testing, test plans and test cases" practice. Not exactly sure yet what that will look like exactly. Probably there'll be some live demonstration (bring your Fedora laptop to reproduce what I do, if you want) but also some no-show explanations of some processes. While I prepared slides for the talk, the workshop might be a little be more spontaneous so people can let me know what's of most interest to them and I'll try to answer and show things.
...or to at least find the right man/wiki page and read the answers...
  3. The fabulous Anaconda team joins up with the Fedora QA folks to have a join "Anaconda QA Hackfest" just after my workshop on Sunday, probably to continue until well after lunch. There's no strict agenda what we'll do there, probably trying to improve the future collaboration in testing Anaconda as this is always a major part of a new Fedora release. Also, we should make some plan what parts of the newly-for-F17 re-written Anaconda UI can be tested at what point in time. Whatever other topics come up will be discussed as well and if we run out of stuff we can discuss we can always starts testing, debugging and fixing stuff. Also, there should be some room for discussion that only relate to either Anaconda or QA, including answering questions and the like of (potential) new contributors.
I tried to have some common thread here, i.e. the talk will give you good basic knowledge for the workshop and both together will help you understand more of the hackfest. But there should be no real issues in case you decide only to visit the workshop or hackfest.

By the way, if you have a micro-HDMI to VGA adapter (male to female) I'd really appreciate if you could bring it along and let me use it so I can actually connect my laptop/ultrabook to the projector. I'll probably bring another laptop as a backup plan but I'd really feel more comfortable if I could just use my primary system. Please let me know if you do!
